ABSTRACT
Perforum was a net art project that consisted in two groups, Desterro, coordinated by Yara Guasque, and São Paulo, coordinated by Artur Matuck, that developed from 1999 to 2001 teleperformances as an intermedia language. The performances of Perforum are a rich archive with more than 56 hours of videos that resulted from the collaborative scripts shared by remote performers acting at a distance to explore new narratives that fuses theater, music and visual arts. Before the scripts were brought up as a live action through multiuser rooms, point to point communication, they were discussed online by active members in the discussion lists. The project planned many other forms of participation and interaction at a distance, performances, online Forum, collaborative workshops and events for a present and online audience which are a reality today as the Performance, body, politics and Technology promoted by Cultura e Pensamento in 2011. Also the project fostered multidisciplinary workshops with the purpose of multiethnic integration, long before this was a goal considered as a governmental strategy, as the one coordinated by Hipahindi Toptiro from Xavante Nation, a native Brazilian tribe in the west of Brazil, that took place in August 1999, at Igaratá, São Paulo, promoted by Paula Perissinoto, who is since 2000 one of the organizers of FILE, International Festival of Electronic Language, and Artur Matuck, a media artist.
