"Art Science" Participants

ABSTRACT
Since the Fall 2010 I have been working as Artistic Director on the project Art @ Science Meeting, the series of events organized around the relationships among art, science and technology in the Center for Contemporary Art in Gdansk. In 2011 I curated two exhibitions: Blue Morph (Victoria Vesna / James Gimzewski) and Performing Data (Monika Fleischmann / Wolfgang Strauss), and invited the exhibition The Pleasure of Light (Gyorgy Kepes and Frank J. Malina) curated by Nina Czegledy and Rona Kopeczky. In the same year I also organized the international conference Towards the Third Culture. In 2012 I curated two exhibitions: Crude Life (Oron Catts and Ionat Zurr) and Wonderful Life (Laurent Mignonneau and Christa Sommerer). The next exhibition I am working on now concerns the cybernetic and robotic art. In my paper I would like to share the experiences of curating art & science, and discuss the differences between presenting art & science works in the context of contemporary art (what I did for Biennale Mediations in Poznan in 2010, where I presented among others works by Eduard Kac, Zbigniew Oksiuta and Paul Vanouse) and the context of its own.
